Aipocalypse And The High Abstraction Plugin Architecture For The Young Lady
We have established that text adventure games, are unusually compatible with Large Language Models (Today’s AI)
We have Learned that a MUD, or MultiUser Dungeon, is a world of rooms or locations, similar to Files and Folders.
And like a Folder, a Room can hold complex things of different types, though this being a Text Adventure world, they are high level game things.
My AI just created a Durable Journal where you can safely add messages, so you can leave a Durable Journal in a room for Agents to make notes in.
Or you can equip each agent with a journal, placing it in it inventory, and now your AI driven agents can keep research notes.
Another quick example of a high level game object is an ID Card, that an AI agent always keeps in their possession.
This read only, this time, ID card holds their system prompt, defining who they are and from which perspective they you look at things.
To give a wild example of a in-room object this time, you can create a teleport device, that hops agents between locations.
Please grab onto something, or someone, as I am about to make a point: I have already introduced you to high level plugin architecture
That is right, the objects you bring into your virtual world, are the high level plugins that define what it is for.
Please note, that is how a point is made.
The remaining two items are elementary, why and how.
The reason why you must use plugins, is because you can’t keep feeding your entire program into AI for development.
If you do that, then the larger your program, the faster you will consume usage quota of your expensive AI service.
With such plugin architecture as I have described, you only ask your AI to introduce a new object into your game.
And every once in a while to inhabit one of your agents, and build something inside out by means of these high level objects.
A virtual pneumatic air tube network that employs many AI agents, is a pretty good example why you may need SOTA AI in your world.
The how is just about describing a contract that your game objects use, and providing the SOTA AI with code examples to get it started.
This just ensures that the object is compatible with your world, agents, and the way you had your MUD programmed.
Finally, what am I even describing, what is it for, what problem does it fix, and do people actually have it.
I am describing a minimalist virtual world based application platform, where it is hard for you to lose track of things as all thing in it are recognizable.
The platform is for lifting you above your competition, multiplying your abilities, and having new ground to stand on.
Here you can build social networks where your users get avatars, protection against hackers where you can’t teleport without a special ID.
You can build artificial minds that contain little people that refine them, whether you orchestrate training or organize agent still and knowledge.
You can build workflows, that create, maintain, or externally monitor, other applications, or even generate code to make external applications.
The problem that such a world fixes aside from giving you a coherent vision, and high level plugin architecture that enables low-cost reusable objects.
Is local AI model coherent, rapid application development, because low powered AI will not get confused in a well structured text world.
State of the art AI will likely offer less intelligence, less usage, while raising prices, developing a world harness makes local AI smarter.
Today AI continues generating code that only confuses programmers. requires more AI to read it and slows down deployment with its complexity.
Corporations, and even professional programmers are scared, of text adventure games, they will hope to fix complexity with more complexity.
Lastly, for a bit of magic.
You also the ability to use real time strategy game graphics, to make your text adventure world come to life.
You get to see the worlds your AI builds, the robots in the pneumatic tubes, and magically, you get to watch it live as the world plays out.
